Six Recent Vamp Flicks that went overlooked

0

Hi Vamps,

Wicked Horror have given us a  list of six recent vampire films which did not get a lot of attention and may have been overlooked by many. Check out the list, it’s well worth it for Vamp fans ;.;

In recent years, there has been a notion that vampires have all but disappeared from the horror genre, instead having moved on to dominate the field of paranormal romance in the wake of smash hit young adult series like Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight saga. But even though it took some years, the popularity of Twilight has almost completely waned. And even when it was at the height of its success, vampires were still making their place in horror. You just had to look a little harder for them.

The Fifth House of the Heart – Interview with author Ben Tripp

0

Hi Vamps,

Sciencefiction.com have just posted an interview with Ben Tripp whose first vampire novel hit the stands in late July. Check out the interview and then go get a copy of the book for yourself!

I should make up a better story, but the truth is that I have seen every single Hammer horror movie, including the snoozing Christopher Lee ones, and I really dig the set decoration. I was watching one of these some years back, admiring the castle interior, and I thought, “damn, I’d kill Dracula myself if it meant I could get my hands on that Jacobean banquet table.” And off it went. That’s literally where the idea came from.

Further details can be found at the Simon and Schuster site

Filled with characters as menacing as they are memorable, this chilling twist on vampire fiction packs a punch in the bestselling tradition of ’Salem’s Lot by Stephen King.

Asmodeus “Sax” Saxon-Tang, a vainglorious and well-established antiques dealer, has made a fortune over many years by globetrotting for the finest lost objects in the world. Only Sax knows the true secret to his success: at certain points of his life, he’s killed vampires for their priceless hoards of treasure.

But now Sax’s past actions are quite literally coming back to haunt him, and the lives of those he holds most dear are in mortal danger. To counter this unnatural threat, and with the blessing of the Holy Roman Church, a cowardly but cunning Sax must travel across Europe in pursuit of incalculable evil—and immeasurable wealth—with a ragtag team of mercenaries and vampire killers to hunt a terrifying, ageless monster…one who is hunting Sax in turn.

From author Ben Tripp, whose first horror novel Rise Again“raises the stakes so high that the book becomes nearly impossible to put down” (Cory Doctorow, author of Little Brother), The Fifth House of the Heart is a powerful story that will haunt you long after its final pages.

Hi Vamps,

darkhorizons.com has reported in that the current producers on this new universe (to counter all the super hero ones) will contain horror after fans were concerned it might be too action adventure.

but there will definitely be horror in the monster movies…We will hopefully serve it up good and plenty…

The first film will be The Mummy set for a 2017 release but we should see Dracula some time after that.
